  1. Not directly historical fiction, but the Christmas Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverini is a favourite. Set within the fictional quilting arena of Elm Creek, in this book some historical quilts are located in the attics of Elm Creek Manor and the stories they tell.

  2. Not strictly historical fiction, as it was contemporary when written, but Nancy Nitford's "Christmas Pudding" is a real hoot.
